The Grand Prairie Equine Center will be a first-of-its-kind, state-of-the-art facility offering equine-assisted mental health services and therapeutic riding for veterans and first responders; a home to GPPD mounted patrol; aftercare for retired race horses; and educational opportunities for local youth to learn about horse care. This public-private partnership will be built primarily from privately raised donations.
We have several speakers who will address the importance of mental health and how this facility is a solution in Grand Prairie that could be replicated elsewhere: Steve Dye and Chief Scesney from the City, Corey Johnsen and Taylor Bunn from Hope 4 All, as well as STEPS with Horses.
