• CEA - Community Entrepreneurship Academy

  • The Community Entrepreneurship Academy (CEA), is a program under the umbrella of the Grand Prairie Chamber Foundation.

CEA is run by volunteers, supported by the Chamber's staff Minority Outreach Director, and is a organization that serves primarily Hispanic women from Grand Prairie and surrounding areas.

Courses offered teach marketable skills, so that ultimately, students will have a trade they have learned, along with associated business classes (also provided by the Chamber), to create a sustainable living. All classes are taught in Spanish, and most courses are a series of 8 classes.

As of 2023, courses are $50 each (not including supplies, where needed), which works out to less than $10 a class. Graduation at the end of the semester is momentous and a great honor for the Chamber, Foundation, CEA Board and CEA instructors to celebrate the successes of the students.

We are grateful to the Board of CEA, volunteer helpers, instructors and our students, for growing our enrollment to nearly 270 in 2023.
