    Overview: The Director of Membership executes a strategic business membership sales plan for the Grand Prairie Chamber of Commerce. The Director identifies prospects, determines their needs, communicates the Chamber’s values and goals, and closes the sale. The Director grows the Chamber’s membership by driving a sales strategy that projects the Chamber’s message/brand to businesses and the community.
     
    The Director works closely with each member of the Chamber staff, but he/she works independently and is responsible for the success of the membership sales plan. The Director must be able to conduct “high-level” business interactions independently and as part of a coordinated team.
     
    Measures of Success:
    • Substantial growth in overall Chamber membership
    • Financial performance against budget
    • Retention rates of new members in the first two years
     
    Qualifications:
    • A strong contact base of Grand Prairie/DFW-based businesses and business leaders
    • Knowledge of Grand Prairie business community
    • Two years business-to-business sales experience
    • The ability to generate qualified leads
    • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills with both internal and external customers; must be friendly and approachable
    • Customer service skills
    • Time management and ability to prioritize ; sense of urgency
    • Highly organized and detail oriented
    • Creativity and strategic thinking
    • Ability and willingness to learn CRM software Chambermaster
    • Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel
    • Ability to meet a monthly sales quota
    • Have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
    • Ability to lift approximately 25lbs
     
    Duties:
    • Actively prospects and sells business members via telephone and in person
    • Sells Chamber memberships to businesses throughout Grand Prairie primarily
    • Represents the Chamber at corporate and community events in an approachable but professional manner
    • Keeps accurate and timely records of prospects and members in our CRM Chambermaster
    • Identifies member prospects; Builds and manage a sales “pipeline”
    • Determines/reports metrics to measure growth in membership
    • Monitors membership application process, following up and ensuring that new members are completely onboarded (paperwork, payment, ribbon cutting scheduled)
    • Increases the rate of renewals by communicating with members to ensure they take advantage of resources and remain engaged
    • Assists in acquiring sponsorships and/or donations for Chamber events
     
     
    Work with the Chamber Team to do the following:
    • Identify needs of potential Chamber members
    • Determine unique messages for individual target segments
    • Collaborate with President in creation of marketing materials for membership sales if needed
    • Performs other duties as assigned
