City of Grand Prairie

The City of Grand Prairie is a Home Rule city, operating under a Council–Manager form of government established by the City Charter in 1948. The City Council serves as the community’s legislative body, setting policy, approving the budget, determining the tax rate, and guiding long-term planning. It is composed of six district representatives, two at-large members, and the Mayor, who also serves at-large, while a professional City Manager oversees daily operations.
